Brother HL-2140 Toner

by admin on August 8, 2011

Don’t rush out to buy a replacement toner. Brother is trying to rip you off, so fight back. I did some dissecting and found a little trick that will help prolong the life of your toner cartridges for your laser printer. Enjoy! and sorry about the random cell phone noises. Hope this saves some money!

My printer wasn’t printing and was about to order cartridge for $30. Thanks for the video. I will change my toner when it starts to print faded pages.

Cheers mate, nice work. I was going to buy a new toner cartridge tomorrow until I had trouble pulling the cartridge out of the machine, then searched the web for how to remove cartridge and found your video. Not only did I learn how to remove but how to prolong! Cheers again!

Doesn’t work for me. What I’m doing wrong?

laurannmick August 9, 2011 at 12:11 AM

Thank you for this video. I’ve been trying to get my Brother printer to print more out of it’s cartridge and the tape trick worked perfectly.

kimberlini August 9, 2011 at 1:08 AM

Thank you so much! I was getting streaks of toner down the sides of every page….troubleshooting up the yin yang. Did I need a new drum? The printer was less than a year old, blah, blah, blah. Turned out to be the generic toner cartridge. Luckily, I still had the original, put tape on it and I’m back in business!

Thank you so much. Really. I almost went out to buy the new cartridge for 50 bucks at BBuy.
How bad is this that this company tries to trick every customer like this???

Once again, Thank you.

Thanks for posting, you are right it stops printing when the quality is still perfect for many pages to come! You are very generous in posting this video. I love the fact that you are not just saving us from unnecessary money spending but also from so much extra garbage, if our ink cartridges print twice as much, then we generate half the garbage! What you are doing is of great service.

I made the fatal mistake of trusting my printer to print a document the morning it was due, and this video saved me! Thank you! Way to stick it to brother!

I will buy you a beer if you wish. You win the internets!
