Tutorial: Changing Ink for HP Deskjet F4580

by admin on January 24, 2012

This is my first informative tutorial explaining how to change the ink for the HP Deskjet F4580 (not saying that most people don’t know how to already!). I hope this is any help to anyone who may be stuck with the printer, but, in other perspectives, it’s a good video for getting to know the printer’s behaviour when changing cartridges. ——————————————————————————————- By the way you may know or realised that my video upload rate is slowing down, purely because of limited ideas for video’s and school life (which is always getting in my way). Video’s could slow down to one a month, just to inform you! Copyright BGL1997

An easy way to get around that pesky ink error failure

Thank you so much for this tutorial! It really helped me out when I was having issues getting my printer cartridges into the printer itself!

@jill506 Well, for those who have this printer and follow the tutorial, I show what cartridge you need before I insert it into the printer head, and when I do, you can make out clearly that there are 2 slots i.e. for two printer cartridges in the printer head, and if you can’t see, I do describe what to do when taking the cartridge out and when putting the new ones in. This is a tutorial for changing the ink cartridges of the HP Deskjet F4580, not to admire the inside mechanics.

@kingslip89 Well, if you bought a different printer to the one I have, you should buy the cartridges it uses. I personally would search a place like amazon with the search “HP Deskjet [Your Model Here] Ink” and it might come up with the cartridges your printer uses. Otherwise, the ink cartridges your printer uses should be illustrated on the box the printer came in, as with mine, or, in the manual. Hope this helps!

nice video, i dont noe alot of printers and i think i bought the wrong one because after i put in the cartridges it says that there is no ink inside, so were should i look to find if it’s the right one?

thank you, very helpful.

ThumperOne January 19, 2012 at 9:10 AM

Hmmm… yes, over here in the USA the cartridge # is 60 and it is a very small cartridge. We can’t get a big one to fit in this printer…I think this cartridge only does about 200 pages.
;-(

BGL1997 January 19, 2012 at 9:32 AM

@ThumperOne To be honest, I hvae no clue! Over here in the UK, The HP Deskjet F4580 is compatible with the 300 cartridege. Maybe, over in the US, it’s different?

ThumperOne January 19, 2012 at 10:26 AM

Why does your ink have the number 300 on it? Mine has the number 60.

I have gone away from owning 12 HPS to now owning one Canon.

thanks that fix my officejet. Video really helpfull. I use to be a printer repairer like u then i took arrow to knee.. Lol

truckinjeff January 19, 2012 at 11:47 AM

Do you think a mack truck would be a better tool to fix an HP printer. Seriously I’m thinking of either getting a lexmark or a brother printer. Both seem to work better than a junk POS HP.

NuSkoolTone January 19, 2012 at 12:34 PM

I think HP should link this to their support site!

I double checked the wires and the printer. The printer is on and it is plauged into the computer, but nothing prints out because a paper was jammed inside and I dragged it.Then put the clean paper stack inside hoping that the printer would start working, but it didn’t work.I restarted the computer a few times, unplauged the printer and watched solutions videos on YouTube and found nothing. The printer makes clicks and cloaks sounds once in a while.
